My throat is killing me! :/ so I walked on the treadmill for one hour and killed two birds with one stone by carrying 5&amp;#160;lb dumbbells and doing bicep curls and shoulder presses until exhaustion. I haven&amp;#8217;t been enjoying it at all, which meant my motivation went down the drain. My diet was also suffering from the lack of exercise. When I am exercising, I tend to eat better, because I don&amp;#8217;t want to ruin all the hard work I put in. I&amp;#8217;ve been at the same weight for almost a year now. Time to kick it up a notch, and my goal is to finally lose the last twenty pounds. Now, I know that probably won&amp;#8217;t happen easily or quickly, but at least I have a goal in mind. And I have a plan&amp;#8230;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Tuesday morning I did a Bootcamp at 5:15am. What was I thinking? I used to get up at 4:30 every morning to workout, but since I moved to Houston, I stopped my morning workouts almost completely. Occasionally, I&amp;#8217;d get up at 5:45 to do 15 minute Tabata intervals, but even that was a struggle. But I bought a groupon for 30 classes that expires at the end of March, so I decided to bite the bullet and commit to as many classes over the next month as possible, sort of like what I did when I had my two-week Define pass (I would kill for another one&amp;#8230; Le sigh.) &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;So I got up at 4:45am Tuesday morning. Was it hard? Yes. For 5 min. And then I got over it. I loved the class. It kept me moving constantly and we were wiped out and done in 45 minutes. Loved it. &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Later that night, I realized how long it had been since I&amp;#8217;d had a good workout. I got off the couch and could barely move! My muscles! Oy! So sore! I missed that feeling. It feels like success. It feels like I kicked some butt!&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;So, you&amp;#8217;re wondering about that plan?&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Instead of giving up something for Lent, I am taking something up: exercise. Every day. For 40 days (FYI- so is my mom. She have me the idea. She&amp;#8217;s awesome). &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I know what you&amp;#8217;re thinking. Isn&amp;#8217;t it bad to workout every day? Probably (disclaimer: I&amp;#8217;m not a trainer. Consult a doctor before starting any workout routine). Am I going to be doing Bootcamp every day? Hells to the no. I&amp;#8217;ll take one or two days a week of active rest. What does that mean? Walking. Yoga. Core fusion (aka, Define. 💗). &lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;You’re probably wondering what this means to me, the girl who stands by whole, unprocessed food 100% of the time.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;First of all, we don’t know what the dude was eating before. It could have been “healthier” food that really wasn’t really that healthy to begin with — the Standard American Diet isn’t so great even without Twinkies. In that case, I could see how the simple act of cutting calories helped him improve those various markers of wellness (but, as even he points out, ARE those even the best markers? I would probably lead toward no).&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;But even more important, I’d like to know: How did he feel while eating this way?!&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Maybe he lost weight. Maybe he lowered his cholesterol. But I can’t imagine, I really can’t even imagine, that he felt anything but sluggish, bloated, and crappy. I also imagine he felt hungry all the time (because if you’re surviving on sugar/carbs, you’re always sort of hungry in a weird “never totally satisfied” kind of way).&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I do believe in calories in, calories out. It’s just science. But I also believe some foods are much more satisfying, energizing, delicious, and have more staying power than others. So if you want to do Weight Watchers, or just count calories, that’s fine. But it might not always be that pleasant, and you might not feel that satisfied or energized.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Those are my two cents, but what do you think about all of this?&lt;/p&gt;

Thats right. 199.4 pounds. Only 49.6 pounds until I reach my goal weight (which is still higher than my &amp;#8220;healthy&amp;#8221; weight, but hey. Its a start.).&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Not sure how long that will take, but another small goal is to loose 24.6 pounds by April 9, 2011. That is 7 months away. 30 weeks. That is .82 pounds a week. THAT IS TOTALLY DO-ABLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;I am so pumped right now. My workout have turned pretty blah lately, especially with the move and being so far away from my gym now. But&amp;#8230;,82 pounds a week. I can handle that. If I burn 500 calories/day, then thats a pound a week! Which means I will be at my small goal in 24 weeks. I can do this. &lt;p&gt;Unless you have been living under a rock, I’m pretty sure you know about  the new Krispy Kreme Bacon Cheeseburger. Basically, it’s a doughnut  with chocolate covered bacon and a cheeseburger put together. I like  Krispy Kremes and I definitely love a good cheeseburger, but both of  them together? And the fact that it has 1000 calories? Having said that,  the burger does look amazing and I guess having a heart attack from  consuming this wouldn’t be too bad,&lt;em&gt; no&lt;/em&gt;?&lt;/p&gt;
